So, what’s it about? Well, you begin and spend the majority of your time in Stella Glow playing the role of Alto, a young boy and the town’s best hunter. It was well paced, lovingly crafted, and although it wasn’t perfect, it was a damn far cry from bad. Right then I knew that this game was a lot of fun. To my surprise, I found myself immediately pulled into Stella Glow for hours (the better part of the first night really) until my 3DS’ battery started sputtering for life and the system had to find its way back to my charging station.

I had no prior experience with the series it was connected to and outside of its anime stylings and promise of turn-based tactical action, I really didn’t know how much there would be to like. I went into this expecting a generic harem RPG like that one that came out a few months back, Conception 2 + all of the anime cliches.I had no idea what to expect when I fired up Stella Glow for the first time. Turns out this was actually a really damn good game instead about friends, psychological trauma, growing emotions, and a bunch of fledgling love stories and family bonds. They still have a lot of anime cliches but Alto is an enjoyable character, his denseness is actually believable for where it rears its head, he's a great brother-character and friend to the people around him. Personally, I think it's the best dub of a JRPG I've ever heard and actually prefer most of the English cast to their counterparts. The whole roster is filled with fun characters and their interactions are funny to endearing to sad. Alto especially he's somehow able to deliver the cheesiest lines with believable emotion and range. xblade76: The japanese voice actor for marth I thought you meant the english one XD. The music is great and the witches singing is beautiful in its original Japanese, although the rest of the voice acting is in English, it just makes the. Music is rock solid from the crescendo highs to the crushing lows. Sarioc: Hawkeye's voice actor is one of the reason i always keep one copy around. I am 25 hours in, reached the first (I'd imagine) turning point of the story, and I am not only hooked but incredibly pleased with the game so far (aside from the passable to cringe-worthy voice acting. Some of the story elements are, admittedly, face-palmingly stupid, though. I've been recommending this to friends with 3DSes, and I know a few have picked it up even though hesitant on the price-tag and have been very happy with their time.
